Job description

We are working with a well‑established, UK‑based organisation to recruit a Part‑Time HR Advisor to join their HR team. This is a people‑focused business with a strong values‑led culture, where collaboration, fairness and employee wellbeing sit at the heart of how the organisation operates.

The Role
Employee Relations
  • Providing accurate and timely advice to managers on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation
  • Supporting and managing employee relations cases including sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters
  • Attending and supporting formal meetings, hearings and investigations
  • Maintaining up‑to‑date case notes and ensuring all documentation is compliant
  • Complying with Health & Safety policies, including general housekeeping responsibilities
HR Administration
  • Producing HR documentation including letters, contracts and contract amendments
  • Ensuring HR processes comply with legal, regulatory and audit requirements
Learning & Development
  • Identifying training needs through performance discussions and employee relations cases
  • Supporting the coordination of training and development programmes
Policy & Process Improvement
  • Assisting with the review and update of HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance
  • Contributing to projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR service delivery
Performance & Development
  • Supporting the performance management process, including objectives, probation reviews and development plans
General HR Support
  • Responding to routine HR enquiries from employees and managers
  • Supporting wellbeing, engagement and wider HR initiatives
  • Providing cover for the HR Manager during periods of absence
Recruitment Support
  • Supporting recruitment campaigns, including reviewing job descriptions and advertising roles
  • Participating in interviews alongside line managers and supporting selection decisions
  • Overseeing onboarding and induction to ensure a positive new starter experience
The Person
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified
  • Proven experience in an HR Advisor role
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Experience using HR information systems
  • High level of discretion with the ability to handle confidential information appropriately
The Package
  • Salary: £34,000 – £35,000 pro rata, plus bonus
  • 23 days holiday, increasing with length of service
  • Private medical scheme and life assurance (after qualifying period)

  • Part‑time hours: 22.5 per week, worked either: 3 full days, or 5 days at 4.5 hours per day
