Job summary

The City of Liverpool College in Liverpool is seeking an HR Advisor to join the Human Resources team. You will support HR Business Partners, provide a professional HR service to managers and staff, ensuring best practice in employee relations and attendance management, and contribute to the College’s mission and values.

Under guiding supervision, you will handle absence casework, advise on contracts, pay, and HR policies, and produce management information.

Qualifications

• Certificate in HR Practice or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and statutory requirements.
• Experience in a busy HR department.
• Experience in preparing formal cases for internal hearings.
• Practical experience in sickness absence management.
• Ability to deliver training.
• Excellent IT literacy – ability to use current IT programs.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for induction and training of new employees on self-service and online systems.
• Provide guidance to managers on HR processes related to performance, absence, probation, and leave.
• Maintain HR systems and provide managers with accurate information.
• Escalate performance concerns to HRBP as appropriate.
• Advise on leave requests (maternity, paternity, compassionate, dependants).
• Maintain exit documentation and handle relevant paperwork.
• Advise on conditions of service, pensions, entitlements and pre-retirement arrangements.
• Support HRBPs in training staff on new processes or legislation.
• Act as a professional ambassador for the College and participate in cross-college activities.
