Job summary

University of Manchester is seeking an Infrastructure Analyst to support HPC/HTC platforms, provide user assistance, and assist with on-site maintenance. The role includes hands-on installation, testing, and documenting configurations, with emphasis on safe installation practices and responsive incident handling.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative IT team and contribute to training, client interactions, and service delivery improvements. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IT portfolio and systems used at the University.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure and service processes.
• Ability to report progress against plans and budgets.
• Experience installing and commissioning equipment and software.
• Familiarity with common desktop software suites.

Responsibilities

• Configures the hardware/software environment as required by the system.
• Installs or removes hardware/software per instructions and standards.
• Tests hardware/software and documents results per procedures.
• Monitors installation performance using management systems and tools.
• Maintains configuration records of installed/removed items.
