Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking an experienced HPC Operations engineer to maintain large-scale Linux infrastructure in a fast-paced, production environment in City of London. You will troubleshoot incidents, automate tasks, and contribute to high-availability compute platforms supporting trading operations.

Qualifications

Proven Linux-based production environment experience.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Scripting experience in Python, Bash or Go.
Experience supporting production infrastructure.
Familiarity with automation/configuration management tools.
Exposure to HPC technologies (Slurm, Lustre, GPFS) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Support and maintain large-scale Linux infrastructure.
Investigate and resolve production incidents.
Monitor platform health and respond to alerts.
Automate operational tasks using scripting.
Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
Support infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.
Participate in an on‑call rotation.
