Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking an experienced HPC Operations engineer to maintain large-scale Linux infrastructure in a fast-paced, production environment in City of London. You will troubleshoot incidents, automate tasks, and contribute to high-availability compute platforms supporting trading operations.

Qualifications

• Proven Linux-based production environment experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Scripting experience in Python, Bash or Go.
• Experience supporting production infrastructure.
• Familiarity with automation/configuration management tools.
• Exposure to HPC technologies (Slurm, Lustre, GPFS) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain large-scale Linux infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents.
• Monitor platform health and respond to alerts.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
• Support infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation.
