Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking a proactive Void Support Officer to help bring empty homes back into use across the city. You will visit customers’ homes, raise repair orders, check properties, and support tenancy sign-ups, with thorough training provided.

Based at Manor Lane Depot and traveling to properties, you will record information in our systems and help ensure homes are ready for new tenants. The role offers 37 hours per week, permanent, with flexible working options and a commitment

Qualifications

• Previous experience of visiting customers or working in customer service would be useful, but it is not essential.
• Strong people skills, practical mindset and willingness to learn about housing.

Responsibilities

• Visit customers’ homes before they leave to give advice, raise repair orders and discuss any potential charges.
• Visit empty properties across Sheffield to check their general condition, identify issues and ensure readiness for the next customer.
• Complete checks and post repair inspections after work has been completed.
• Carry out customer viewings and tenancy sign-ups.
• Record information from visits and inspections accurately, including updates to voids and maintenance systems.
