Job summary

Sheffield City Council is recruiting for a Void Support Officer to support the Housing Voids Team across Sheffield. You will visit customers, inspect empty properties, and help prepare homes for new tenants.

Training will be provided and you will work 37 hours per week from Manor Lane Depot, travelling to properties city-wide. The role offers the opportunity to gain practical housing knowledge, develop inspection and customer service skills, and contribute directly to enabling families to move

Qualifications

• Previous experience visiting customers or working in customer service is useful, but not essential.
• We will provide thorough training to develop housing knowledge and inspection skills.
• This is a permanent role with a full-time 37-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Visit customers’ homes before tenancy ends to advise, raise repair orders and discuss charges.
• Visit empty properties across Sheffield to check condition and readiness for the next tenant.
• Complete checks and post-repair inspections after work is completed.
• Record information from visits accurately in voids and maintenance systems.
