Job summary

Wychavon District Council is seeking a Housing Triage Assistant to act as the first point of contact for customers contacting our housing service. You will provide initial housing options advice, determine eligibility, and signpost to other organisations while referring to officers to reduce homelessness.

The role covers Malvern and Wychavon districts and may include additional Housing Assistant duties with flexible team support. A basic DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused and dedicated to providing timely service.
• Ability to advise on housing options and eligibility.
• Plan and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate in writing, face to face and by telephone.
• Sound working knowledge of housing legislation and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for customers in housing services.
• Process approaches for triage and provide initial housing advice.
• Determine eligibility and homelessness status and refer to officers.
• Signpost to others and make referrals to team members.
• Undertake additional Housing Assistant duties and work flexibly.
