Job summary

Mears Group in Sunderland is seeking a Housing Support Officer to join our expanding team. You will provide practical and emotional support to asylum seekers through their Home Office right-to-work process, monitor welfare, and maintain accurate records for compliance.

The role covers housing management, move-ins/outs, and coordinating with internal teams and external agencies to ensure appropriate support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting asylum seekers or vulnerable clients is desirable.
• Strong safeguarding and welfare awareness.
• Ability to monitor wellbeing and maintain accurate records for audits.
• Excellent communication with colleagues, authorities and partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality housing management and support to service users.
• Manage a portfolio of homes within an assigned region, ensuring contractual standards.
• Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, voids and inspections.
• Identify service users' support needs and arrange appropriate packages.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies and care providers to ensure suitable support.
