Job summary

Mears Group in Sunderland is seeking a Housing Support Officer to help asylum seekers with the Home Office right-to-work process, providing practical and emotional support while safeguarding wellbeing. You will maintain accurate records for compliance and play a key part in delivering a high-quality housing management and support service.

You will manage a portfolio of homes in your region, coordinate move-ins and inspections, monitor performance, and work with internal teams, external agencies

Qualifications

• Must have full UK driving licence.
• Experience in housing management and support services is desirable.
• Ability to work with asylum seekers and safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality housing management and support to service users.
• Manage a portfolio of homes within the assigned region.
• Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, voids and inspections.
• Identify service users' support needs and work with internal teams and external partners to ensure appropriate support.
