Mears Group is seeking a Housing Support Officer in Sunderland to assist asylum seekers with the Home Office application process. The role combines housing management with person-centred support, requiring empathy, resilience and strong record-keeping.

A driving licence is essential for moving between sites and client homes. You will work with multi-agency teams to identify needs, arrange support packages and monitor welfare.

• Support asylum seekers throughout their application process, ensuring welfare and safeguarding needs are met.
• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals and families.
• Identify needs and put in place support packages to promote independence.
• Work with vulnerable and diverse client groups, including those with mental health needs or challenging behaviours.
• Carry out risk assessments and maintain accurate records for audits and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, service users, local authorities, and partner organisations.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver a high-quality housing management and support service to service users.
• Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, voids and inspections.
• Monitor compliance with key performance indicators and manage risks.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies and care providers to ensure appropriate support.
