Job description

Housing Support Officer who has experience working in a customer facing role, preferably supporting vulnerable people, with excellent communication and administrative skills, is required to join our team at A2Dominion.

FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

You may not have experience in this sector, as the company recognises that transferable skills and experience are just as valuable and full training is provided.

SALARY: £25,828 - £31,266 per annum + Generous Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Oxford, Oxfordshire (OX4) – Fully site based

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housing Support Officer who has experience working in a customer facing role, preferably supporting vulnerable people, with excellent communication and administrative skills.

Working as the Housing Support Officer you will join a friendly and hard-working team in supporting customers living in supported accommodation service.

As a Housing Support Officer you will work as a keyworker to residents, enabling them to sustain their tenancies by promoting independence, freedom and choice.

DUTIES

  1. Assess referrals and engage with prospective clients using a person-centred approach.
  2. Ensure that prospective and current clients are fully aware of the support available, their financial obligations, rights and responsibilities under their tenancy/occupation arrangements and all related procedures.
  3. Agree and review client Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments on a regular basis.
  4. Flexibly deliver the support identified in an Independent Living Plan through regular person-centred contact as appropriate.
  5. Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  6. Forge and maintain links with partner agencies and other key stakeholders as appropriate to ensure that good communication and co-operation is maintained.
  7. Report any concerns relating to safeguarding of vulnerable people using the correct procedures, attending case conferences and other meetings as required.
  8. Ensure that all relevant documentation and records are completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner.
  9. Actively contribute to the collection of data to be used in statutory returns.
  10. Empower clients to ensure the safety, security and cleanliness of the project, including adherence with internal policies and procedures and reporting repairs where necessary.
  11. Handle complaints and representations in accordance with company policy and undertake any necessary investigations.

To be considered you will meet the following criteria:

  1. Experience of working in a customer-facing role, motivating complex and diverse client groups to sustain housing, health and/or work outcomes.
  2. An understanding to motivate people who have complex and diverse issues, including alcohol or substance misuse, mental health trauma and behavioural challenges.
  3. This role will require working alone more often than not, so discipline and self-motivation is key.
