Job summary

St Albans City and District Council is recruiting a specialist tenancy sustainment advisor on a 20-month fixed-term contract to support people who were rough sleeping or at risk of it. The role is full-time (37 hours) with hybrid working options and a caseload focused on helping clients sustain settled tenancies.

Applicants need NVQ level 4 or 5 and relevant housing or support experience, plus a Basic DBS check. The position offers benefits including leave, pension, and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist tenancy sustainment and housing-related support to people who have moved into permanent accommodation.
• Manage a varied caseload of people who have been rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping, helping them sustain settled tenancies.
• Help clients access and sustain suitable accommodation.
• Help clients overcome barriers to housing stability.
• Build clients' skills and confidence to live independently.
• Work with a range of stakeholders so clients can access and engage with support services.
