Job summary

Wyre Forest District Council is seeking a Housing Advice Assistant to be the first point of contact for households with housing needs. You will assess circumstances, offer immediate solutions, and refer more complex cases to Housing Officers.

You will help manage temporary accommodation sign-ups, assist with service charges, and provide housing guidance via email and phone. A DBS check is required, with flexible hours and some after-hours work anticipated.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in a customer-facing role.
• DBS check required (Basic DBS).
• Involves occasional out-of-hours work and travel duties.

Responsibilities

• Act as first contact for housing needs and assess situations.
• Refer clients to Housing Officers for in-depth assistance.
• Assess if temporary accommodation is needed and facilitate sign-up.
