Help residents feel at home while keeping a housing service running well
We are looking for a Housing Services Manager to help deliver safe, welcoming and well-maintained independent living accommodation. Combining daily resident contact with hands‑on operational management, this is an opportunity to make a practical difference to residents’ homes and community life.
You will work alongside another Housing Services Manager as an equal partner, sharing responsibilities, maintaining clear handovers and providing reciprocal cover. Reporting to the Chair of the Board or a nominated officer, you will balance resident services with staff leadership, tenancy management and property oversight. The role does not involve nursing or personal care.
You will have experience in housing management, supported or retirement housing, or a closely related resident‑facing service with transferable operational responsibilities. You will also bring experience of supervising staff, co‑ordinating repairs or premises services, and managing competing priorities.
You must hold, or be actively working/willing to work towards, a relevant Level 5 qualification in housing or management. Clear communication, sound judgement, confident use of email, spreadsheets and electronic records, and an understanding of tenancy management, safeguarding, confidentiality and building safety are essential.
Above all, you will be approachable, organised and committed to residents’ independence, dignity and safety. You will be comfortable working as an equal management partner, sharing information and resolving differences constructively. Experience of independent living accommodation, Board support or a job‑sharing arrangement would be an advantage.
This is an on‑site role, working 32 hours over four days each week, Monday to Thursday, with participation in an agreed management on‑call rota and occasional meetings outside normal working hours. The role’s duties can be undertaken with reasonable adjustments where required.
