Job summary

The Oyster Partnership is recruiting an experienced Repairs Officer for a busy Local Authority housing repairs service. This fully office-based role requires 5 days a week in the office with no hybrid option.

The role combines diagnostics, contractor management, resident communication and repairs administration. We are seeking candidates with housing repairs and maintenance experience within Local Authorities, Housing Associations, ALMOs or repairs contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in social housing repairs or property services.
• Ability to diagnose repairs and determine the appropriate action.
• Experience raising repairs and allocating works to contractors.
• Strong contractor liaison and job management skills.
• Excellent customer service and resident communication.
• Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose housing repair issues using questioning and knowledge.
• Raise, record and allocate repair jobs to contractors or teams.
• Monitor repairs and contractor activity to completion within timescales.
• Manage and reconcile variation orders across contracts.
• Support management and reconciliation of work in progress (WIP).
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, allocations and progress.
• Communicate with residents regarding updates and outcomes.
• Support resolution of repair-related complaints and queries.
• Order supplies and materials for the operations team.
• Support out-of-hours repairs per rota arrangements.
