Job summary

Tempest Resourcing Limited is seeking a proactive Repairs Officer to own the responsive repairs and voids service for a community-focused housing provider. You will manage end-to-end repairs, raise orders, inspect works and ensure regulatory compliance, delivering excellent service to residents.

Ideal candidates will have experience in social housing repairs, strong communication skills, and a driving licence. A vehicle is preferred to cover multiple properties efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing responsive repairs and voids within social housing, housing management or property services.
  • Strong knowledge of housing maintenance and property compliance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet service targets.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Managing responsive repairs from initial report through to completion.
  • Raising work orders, obtaining quotes and instructing contractors.
  • Carrying out pre and post inspections.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and quality of works.
  • Managing void properties to minimise turnaround times.
  • Identifying and escalating complex repairs, damp and mould, disrepair and other high‑risk issues.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Delivering excellent customer service to residents at every stage.
