Job summary

Howells is seeking a Repairs / Voids Supervisor for Cambridge and surrounding areas to oversee reactive maintenance in social housing. You will lead a team of technicians, inspect properties, coordinate work orders, and manage budgets while ensuring safety and resident satisfaction.

The role requires strong leadership, housing maintenance experience, and good communication with residents and departments. A valid driving licence and CMMS familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in social housing or property maintenance.
• Supervisory or leadership experience (1+ years).
• Knowledge of SOR codes and housing maintenance regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians and contractors.
• Inspect properties and identify repair needs while ensuring safety and quality.
• Coordinate work orders, schedule repairs, and manage daily activities.
• Maintain records of work, materials and costs.
• Monitor budgets and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Build positive relationships with residents and address concerns.
• Collaborate with departments for housing-related coordination.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
• Provide regular reports to management on maintenance status.
