Job summary

Birmingham City Council seeks a proactive Repairs Contracts Works Officer to support delivery of responsive repairs, maintenance and capital works across the Council's housing stock in the North of the City. You will link contractors, internal teams and residents to ensure works are completed to programme, budget and required standards, while upholding safety and compliance.

A relevant construction qualification and strong contract management experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing repairs contracts and ensuring compliance.
• Ability to diagnose building defects and specify solutions.
• Experience with contract performance management and KPI monitoring.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Knowledge of housing repairs legislation and landlord responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support management and monitoring of repairs and maintenance contracts.
• Coordinate access and works delivery with contractors, residents, and internal teams.
• Monitor KPIs, costs, and contractor compliance.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and service failures.
• Maintain records and reports for audits and performance reporting.
• Contribute to health and safety and safeguarding processes.
