Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a proactive Repairs Contracts Works Officer to support delivery and management of responsive repairs, maintenance and capital works across the housing stock in the North of the City.

The role focuses on ensuring works are completed on programme, to budget and to required standards, with a strong link between contractors, internal teams and residents. Hybrid working and a focus on safety and performance are key.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with contractors, residents and internal teams.
• Experience managing repairs and maintenance contracts and monitoring performance.

Responsibilities

• Support management and monitoring of repairs and maintenance contracts to ensure compliance with legislation and contractual obligations.
• Diagnose building defects and specify solutions.
• Coordinate access and works delivery with contractors, internal teams and residents.
• Maintain records and documentation for audits and performance reporting.
• Assist with KPI monitoring, service delivery costs and contractor compliance.
• Support health and safety processes related to repairs and maintenance works.
