Job summary

Blackpool Council is seeking an experienced Housing Options Team Leader to lead our Housing Options Service and make a real difference to residents facing housing difficulties and homelessness.

This role delivers statutory homelessness and housing allocation functions, while leading a specialist team focused on early intervention, preventing homelessness, supporting vulnerable residents, sustaining tenancies and improving housing outcomes across Blackpool.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in homelessness and housing options.
• Experience in leading teams and delivering customer-focused services.
• Ability to inspire and develop others and drive service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Housing Options Service and a dedicated team.
• Deliver statutory homelessness and housing allocation duties.
• Focus on prevention, early intervention and reducing reliance on temporary accommodation.

Contract - Permanent

Hours - 37 hours

Salary- NJC Grade H1 SCP 27 - 30 £39,481 - £42,123 per annum

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in delivering the Council's statutory homelessness and housing allocation functions, whilst leading a dedicated, specialist team focused on early intervention, preventing homelessness, supporting vulnerable residents, sustaining tenancies and improving housing outcomes across Blackpool.

A key aspect of the role will be to lead and support the team in reducing the use of temporary accommodation through effective homelessness prevention and housing solutions. Particular emphasis will be placed on minimising the need for interim accommodation and reducing reliance on bed and breakfast placements in line with statutory guidance and service objectives.
