Job summary

Abri Group in Reading seeks a Housing Officer to deliver neighbourhood and tenancy management services, tackling ASB, supporting vulnerable residents, and working with partners to improve outcomes.

You'll own ASB and tenancy breach cases, investigate complaints, interview residents, prepare warning letters, liaise with Police and agencies, and contribute to resident satisfaction through professional casework and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing management and tenancy enforcement.
• Experience handling ASB casework and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of ASB and tenancy breach cases from report to resolution.
• Investigate complaints, interview residents and witnesses.
• Prepare warning letters and action plans; support legal action when needed.
• Work with Police, local authorities and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to resident satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of anti-social behaviour (ASB) and tenancy breach cases from initial report through to resolution. This will involve:

• Investigating complaints and gathering evidence
• Interviewing residents and witnesses
• Preparing warning letters and action plans
• Working with the Police and partner agencies
• Supporting legal action where necessary
• Helping tackle persistent nuisance and community safety issues

You’ll work collaboratively with:

• Local authorities
• Social care teams
• Health professionals
• Support providers
• Community and voluntary organisations

As a visible and approachable presence within neighbourhoods, you will:

• Listen and respond to residents' concerns

What We're Looking For:

• Housing management, neighbourhood management, tenancy enforcement or ASB casework experience
• Supporting vulnerable residents and managing complex cases
• Working with external agencies and partner organisations
• Managing challenging situations confidently and professionally
• Maintaining accurate case records and documentation
• Safeguarding responsibilities for adults and children
• Tenancy management principles and housing legislation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong investigative and problem-solving abilities
• Report writing and case management experience
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
• CIH qualification or willingness to work towards one
• Experience attending court hearings
• Experience participating in case conferences and multi-agency safeguarding
