Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to provide a comprehensive housing management service to older and vulnerable residents living independently within designated housing schemes.

The role covers tenancy management, safety, voids, lettings, estate inspections and enforcement, ensuring tenancies are sustained and homes are safe and well maintained. You'll work with Adult Social Care and NHS services as appropriate and monitor KPIs to drive service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing management within social housing.
• Experience managing tenancy enforcement and tenancy sustainment cases.
• Experience working with older and vulnerable residents living independently.
• Knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management requirements and housing consumer standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive tenancy management service in line with housing legislation, policies and consumer standards.
• Manage tenancy matters and take proportionate tenancy enforcement action where required.
• Support older and vulnerable residents to sustain their tenancies, working with Adult Social Care, NHS services and other agencies where appropriate.
• Carry out property, estate and communal area inspections, ensuring follow-up actions are completed within agreed timescales.
• Monitor the safety and condition of residents' homes and communal areas and raise compliance issues where required.
• Inspect properties at pre-void stage and work with colleagues and contractors to minimise void turnaround times and rental loss.
• Manage lettings activity and conduct tenancy sign-ups.
• Monitor estate services contracts and address performance issues.
• Maintain a regular presence across allocated housing schemes and deal with housing management issues as they arise.
• Support resident engagement and involvement in housing service delivery.
• Monitor and report against housing management KPIs.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Housing Officer or within a similar tenancy management role.
• Experience delivering housing management services within social housing.
• Experience managing tenancy enforcement and tenancy sustainment cases.
• Experience working with older and vulnerable residents living independently.
• Knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management requirements and housing consumer standards.
• Experience carrying out property, estate and communal area inspections.
• Experience managing voids, lettings and tenancy sign-ups.
• Experience working with statutory and support services to help vulnerable residents sustain their tenancies.
• Experience monitoring housing management performance and KPIs.
