Job Role: Housing Officer (CAS3)

Salary: £28,366 per year

Hours: full-time 37.5 hours per week

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Given the distribution of service users, a candidate based in Somerset is preferred. However, the role will still involve travel across all areas covered by the scheme (Bath, North Somerset and Somerset)

Additional information:
  • On-call (1 in 4 weeks), £100/week when on-call
  • Large amounts of travel will be a key requirement for this role.

The Role:

Working within a new and exciting service to provide temporary accommodation and support to those leaving prison who would otherwise be homeless. The role will involve managing a caseload of clients across properties in Bath, North Somerset and Somerset. Engaging with people on probation who have left prison, to support them to access and manage their temporary accommodation and move-on successfully.

Responsibilities include:
  • Induct new clients into their accommodation and the service, setting clear expectations.
  • Any other tasks and activities that reasonably related to managing the properties and supporting the clients
  • Pro-actively identify and resolve all property related issues efficiently, in conjunction with the property manager and/or the maintenance and facilities team.
  • Performing all necessary functions to manage property check-ins and check-outs, including preparing accommodation for occupation, to prescribed timescales.

Qualifications / Requirements:
  • A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel to work
  • Able to work alone unsupervised.
  • Experience in the supported housing sector, ideally having worked with people on probation.
  • Willingness to work flexibly until 8pm, as needed, to support new arrivals into properties.
