Job summary

Job description

We are seeking to recruit two Housing Officers to join our Housing and Communities team: one permanent position and one fixed term position for 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our residents, helping people access housing, sustain their tenancies and resolve issues within their neighbourhoods.

As a key point of contact for customers, you will play an important role in delivering our vision to be First for Housing and ensuring residents receive responsive, high-quality services.

Job Role

As a Housing Officer, you will manage a designated neighbourhood and provide a comprehensive housing management service.

You will oversee allocations and void management, ensuring homes are let efficiently and in line with Council policies and performance targets. You will work directly with residents, providing advice, support and practical solutions to help sustain tenancies and improve neighbourhood outcomes.

Whether visiting customers in their homes, meeting residents in local hubs or attending community events, you will be highly visible within your neighbourhoods and committed to resolving issues quickly and effectively.

We are looking for someone with experience of housing management or delivering services within social housing, who is passionate about helping people and improving communities. You will have excellent communication skills, a strong customer focus and the ability to manage a varied caseload while working collaboratively with a wide range of residents, stakeholders and partner organisations.
