Job summary

Home Group is recruiting a Housing and Property Lead to focus on tenancy support, ensuring homes are safe and well maintained, and to manage rent accounts with the aim of helping customers move into secure, long-term accommodation.

Based at our Sunderland service, you will travel around properties in the area, turn around vacant rooms quickly, comply with health and safety standards, and work with external partners to deliver a high-quality housing management service.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing a housing caseload and handle landlord and housing management duties
  • Know-how of re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed
  • Able to take on a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to your colleagues
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds
  • A "can do" positive attitude, you're proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative
  • Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners

Responsibilities

  • Making sure that our customers properties are homes they can be proud of, you’ll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
  • Help our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
  • Where there is a need, you'll also issue and sign warning letters and notices which may lead to attending court.
  • Getting rooms ready for the next customers who needs our help and for maximum occupancy, you'll turn around vacant or void rooms / bed spaces / properties within set timescales.
  • Ensuring we are health and safety compliant and that maintenance standards are met.

Pay £14.06 per hour (£27,500 per annum) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

As our Housing and Property Lead, you'll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you'll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to a secure, long-term accommodation! What you’ll do

Experience

    Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm and you manage your own diary in between those hours to meet service need.
  • This role is for a female colleague due to the needs of the service.
  • Based at our service in Sunderland you'll spend your time travelling around the properties in this area
  • Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups,
  • To get from A to B, you'll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we'll pay your mileage!
  • You'll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
