Job summary

Home Group in the UK is hiring a Housing and Property Lead in Southampton. You’ll focus on tenancy support for customers, ensuring homes are safe and well maintained, and provide a housing management service to help tenants manage tenancies and rent accounts toward secure, long-term accommodation.

You’ll have experience managing a housing caseload, know-how of re-letting rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.

Responsibilities

• Make sure customer properties are homes they can be proud of by engaging customers in their tenancies
• Help customers with housing benefit claims to ensure these are posted to rent accounts
• Issue and sign warning letters and notices that may lead to court
• Turn around vacant rooms/properties/bed spaces within set timescales for maximum occupancy
• Ensure health and safety compliance and maintenance standards

This is a great opportunity to join our team. As our Housing and Property Lead, you'll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you'll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to a secure, long-term accommodation!

What You'll Do

• Making sure that our customers properties are homes they can be proud of, you'll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
• Help our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
• Where there is a need, you'll also issue and sign warning letters and notices which may lead to attending court.
• Getting rooms ready for the next customers who needs our help and for maximum occupancy, you'll turn around vacant or void rooms / bed spaces / properties within set timescales.
• Ensuring we are health and safety compliant and that maintenance standards are met.

You have

• Experience in managing a housing caseload and handle landlord and housing management duties

The practical bits

• You'll work Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm,
• Based and working within Southampton City boundaries
• Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups,
• You'll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
