Job summary

Barratt is recruiting for a Design/Technical role overseeing infrastructure design for residential developments. You will manage external consultants, secure S38/S104/S278 adoption, and ensure adherence to building regulations while coordinating with the internal design team.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years post-qualification experience in a design environment (civil/structural), with Autodesk PDS or Microdrainage skills and strong negotiation abilities with authorities.

Qualifications

• 5 years post-qualification experience
• Experience in a design related environment, preferably Civil or Structural
• Ability to negotiate with sewerage undertakers and highway authorities
• Coordination with design team to meet programme
• Proficient with design software such as Autodesk PDS or Microdrainage

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design and detailing carried out by external Consulting Engineers for external works including foundation solutions, new estate roads and sewers
• Procure services records and enquiries for new developments and ensure timely payment for infrastructure to support build programmes
• Secure adoption agreements (S38, S104 and S278) in a timely manner to suit the development programme
• Advise on input into securing structural designs for superstructure components
• Maintain peer review of consultant designs to ensure best practice in value engineering and statutory compliance
• Liaise with the design team to discharge building regulations and planning conditions
