Job summary

Moxie People is seeking a Housing Assistant in Bristol to help manage tenancies, support residents and ensure properties are safe and compliant. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a salary of £25,837.50 per annum and 37.5 hours per week, with flexible start times of 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm.

You will drive housing operations, perform health and safety inspections, and collaborate with care and maintenance teams to achieve positive outcomes for residents.

Qualifications

  • Experience in housing, tenancy management or similar community-based services.
  • Understanding of tenancy agreements, licences and housing legislation.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and housing benefit processes.
  • Experience managing tenancy-related issues including arrears, ASB or tenancy breaches.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good IT and administrative skills.
  • A proactive and organised approach.
  • Resilience, empathy and the ability to work in a challenging but rewarding environment.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage rent and service charge accounts, including arrears recovery and payment plans.
  • Support tenancy sustainment and help residents maintain successful tenancies.
  • Investigate and resolve tenancy issues, anti-social behaviour and safeguarding concerns.
  • Carry out housing management duties including sign-ups, tenancy reviews and void management.
  • Support residents to access alternative housing options where appropriate.
  • Conduct regular health and safety inspections across schemes.
  • Work closely with care and maintenance teams to deliver positive outcomes for residents.
  • Manage property standards, cleaning and environmental improvements.
  • Ensure compliance processes are followed and accurate records maintained.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, external agencies and support services.

We're partnering with a values-led organisation that provides housing and support to people living with mental ill health and learning disabilities across Bristol.

They are looking for a Housing & Compliance Assistant to join their team and help create safe, stable and supportive environments where people can thrive, develop independence and feel part of their community.

What you'll be doing
