Job summary

My Space Housing Solutions is seeking a Housing Support Officer to deliver a person-centred service for vulnerable adults. You will support tenants to maintain safe and sustainable tenancies, promote independence, wellbeing and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities include tenant support, tenancy management, safeguarding, multi-agency collaboration and essential admin tasks. A DBS check and driving licence are required to meet service needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored, person-centred support based on individual needs, including complex needs.
• Develop and review support plans and risk assessments.
• Help tenants build independent living skills and access community services.
• Manage a caseload and support tenancy sustainment.
• Assist with rent, benefits, budgeting and arrears prevention.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and conduct risk assessments.
• Coordinate property maintenance and health and safety checks.
• Work with local authorities and healthcare partners to advocate for tenants.

Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 17:00pm

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Housing Support Officer to join our team and deliver a high-quality, person-centred service to vulnerable adults. You will support tenants to maintain safe, secure and sustainable tenancies while promoting independence, wellbeing and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

Tenant Support & Engagement

• Provide tailored, person-centred support based on individual needs, sometimes complex needs including homelessness, substance abuse, mental ill-health
• Develop and review support plans, including risk assessments
• Support tenants to build independent living skills
• Support access to specialist and community services
• Build professional relationships based on trust and respect

Housing & Tenancy Management

• Manage a caseload of tenants and support tenancy sustainment
• Support with rent, benefits, budgeting and preventing arrears
• Respond to anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches
• Conduct property inspections and maintain standards
• Prevent evictions through early intervention

Safeguarding & Risk Management

• Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns
• Complete risk assessments and implement control measures
• Maintain accurate and confidential records
• Follow health and safety procedures

Multi-Agency Working

• Work with local authorities, healthcare providers and partners
• Attend meetings and advocate for tenants

Compliance & Administration

• Carry out health and safety checks and inspections
• Coordinate property maintenance with contractors
• Maintain accurate records and reports
