Job summary

The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere is preparing to open and seeks an enthusiastic Housekeeping Supervisor to join the team from day one. You’ll lead cleaning operations, maintain immaculate guest rooms and public spaces, and work closely with the team to deliver outstanding hospitality in a food-led operation.

As a key player in a substantial new opening with 55 bedrooms, the role emphasizes team collaboration, high standards, and exceptional guest experiences, with training and growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills essential for guest interaction and team coordination.
• Attention to detail required to maintain high cleanliness standards across rooms and public areas.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure during peak times and guest requests.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms to high standards and refresh public areas.
• Report maintenance issues promptly to ensure guest comfort.
• Manage stocks of linen, towels and room supplies; train new and existing team members.
• Provide updates to the General Manager to ensure seamless operations.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As Housekeeping Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of the team, deputising in the absence of the Head Housekeeper while maintaining a friendly, detail-oriented approach. You’ll take pride in your work, remain calm under pressure, and exceed guest expectations by responding effectively to requests.

Your duties will include cleaning rooms to our high standards, ensuring public areas are clean and welcoming, promptly reporting maintenance issues, and following safety guidelines. You’ll work closely with the team to create memorable visits, manage stocks of linen, towels, and room supplies, and train new and existing team members. Providing updates to the General Manager will be part of your role, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
