Job summary

The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere seeks an experienced Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team from day one. You will oversee room and public area cleanliness, set high standards, and ensure a welcoming, spotless environment that enhances guest experiences.

You will train staff, manage linen and supplies, report maintenance needs, uphold safety guidelines, and brief the General Manager on operations. If you excel at teamwork, stay calm under pressure, and lead by example, you’ll fit right in

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with guests and colleagues.
• Experience leading a housekeeping team in a hospitality setting.
• Strong leadership by example and high standards of cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning of rooms and public areas and maintain high standards.
• Report maintenance issues promptly and manage linen and supplies.
• Train and mentor new and existing housekeeping staff.
• Ensure safety guidelines are followed and provide regular updates to management.
• Collaborate with the General Manager to ensure smooth operations.
• Lead by example to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As Head Housekeeper, you’ll bring your friendly, detail-oriented nature to the role, ensuring a spotless, welcoming environment. Calm under pressure, you’ll exceed guest expectations by reacting promptly to requests and maintaining high standards throughout.

As part of the Housekeeping team, you’ll guide with professionalism, punctuality, and a keen eye for detail. Your duties will include overseeing the cleaning of rooms and public areas, promptly reporting maintenance issues, managing linen and supplies, and training new and existing staff. You’ll follow safety guidelines, work closely with the team to create memorable visits, and provide regular updates to the General Manager to ensure smooth operations.
