Job summary

The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere is preparing to open its doors, and we're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team and be part of an exciting new chapter from day one. With 55 bedrooms, 196 internal covers and 148 external covers, this is a substantial, food-led operation with ambitious plans, located in the heart of Grasmere.

Whatever your role, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to creating exceptional guest experiences and help establish The Wordsworth Inn as a destination

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering guest service.
• Ability to lead by example and train staff.
• Organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing a team during opening phase.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning of rooms and public areas and maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Lead and train housekeeping team, supervise supplies and linen management.
• Report maintenance issues to the General Manager and ensure smooth operations.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As Head Housekeeper, you’ll bring your friendly, detail-oriented nature to the role, ensuring a spotless, welcoming environment. Calm under pressure, you’ll exceed guest expectations by reacting promptly to requests and maintaining high standards throughout.

As part of the Housekeeping team, you’ll guide with professionalism, punctuality, and a keen eye for detail. Your duties will include overseeing the cleaning of rooms and public areas, promptly reporting maintenance issues, managing linen and supplies, and training new and existing staff. You’ll follow safety guidelines, work closely with the team to create memorable visits, and provide regular updates to the General Manager to ensure smooth operations.
