Job summary

Red Dot Search UK Limited is seeking a Household Claims Handler for on-site Bolton. You will manage a caseload from first notification to settlement, handling incidents such as escape of water, storms, and theft while ensuring policy coverage and timely updates to customers.

Candidate should have around 12 months of household/home/ property claims experience, strong customer service skills, and GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.

Qualifications

• Household, home or property claims experience required.
• Around 12 months of claims experience is plenty; validation, home emergency or desktop claims experience counts too.
• Strong insurance customer service background will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload of household claims from notification to settlement (ET water, storm, accidental damage, theft, buildings and contents).
• Check policy cover and gather information to move each claim forward.
• Appoint and manage suppliers on behalf of the policyholder.
• Keep customers updated clearly and honestly throughout the process.
• Spot and refer potential fraud.

Household Claims Handler | Bolton (BL7) | up to £28,000 | Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

We are recruiting a household claims handler for an established, FCA-regulated general insurance business on the edge of Bolton. They are adding to their household claims team after taking on a significant new contract.

What you will be doing:

• Running your own caseload of household claims from first notification through to settlement: escape of water, storm, accidental damage, theft, buildings and contents
• Checking policy cover and gathering the information needed to move each claim forward
• Appointing and managing suppliers on behalf of the policyholder
• Keeping customers updated clearly and honestly throughout
• Spotting and referring potential fraud

Being straight with you: the role is on site five days a week until you pass probation, and you will need to drive, as public transport to the site is not realistic.

• Household, home or property claims experience. Around 12 months is plenty, and validation, home emergency or desktop claims experience counts too. Strong insurance customer service backgrounds will also be considered.
• Confidence on the phone and across multiple systems
• GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
• Full driving licence and your own transport
