HOURLY PAID LECTURER – DIGITAL CONFIDENCE AND BASIC DIGITAL SKILLS

£31.36–£32.51 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
5-week programme – 3 hours per week

Are you passionate about helping people develop the digital skills, confidence and knowledge they need to work effectively in an increasingly digital environment?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and supportive Hourly Paid Lecturer in Digital Confidence and Basic Digital Skills to deliver a short programme for working health professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity to support adult learners who may have a wide range of digital skills, experience and confidence. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, inclusive and practical teaching that enables learners to develop essential digital skills that can be applied directly within their working lives.

The programme will be delivered over five weeks, consisting of one three-hour session per week, with a total of 15 taught hours.

The programme will cover:

Week 1 – Digital Fundamentals
Devices, logging in, navigating the desktop, understanding common digital terminology, basic troubleshooting and knowing where to access support.
Week 2 – Communication and Microsoft 365
Outlook email and calendar, Microsoft Teams calls and chat, email basics and effective digital communication.
Week 3 – Documents, Files and SharePoint
Microsoft Word basics, creating and editing documents, saving and finding files, OneDrive, SharePoint and accessing organisational information and resources.
Week 4 – Workplace Digital Systems
Accessing and navigating common workplace systems, online self-service platforms, e-rostering, e-learning and other role-specific digital systems.
Week 5 – Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence
Phishing, passwords, information governance, safe digital working and an accessible introduction to artificial intelligence and its appropriate use in the workplace.

The ideal candidate will have strong practical digital skills and experience of teaching, training, coaching or supporting adult learners. You will be confident in the use of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, OneDrive and SharePoint, and have the ability to explain digital concepts clearly and in accessible language.

You will be able to engage, motivate and support learners with a range of starting points and levels of digital confidence. A patient, flexible and inclusive approach will be essential, together with the ability to create a supportive learning environment in which learners feel comfortable asking questions and developing new skills.

Experience of delivering digital skills training within health, care, education or another professional workplace environment would be advantageous.
You will be expected to deliver practical and engaging sessions that include demonstration, guided practice and opportunities for learners to apply their skills. The ability to adapt teaching to meet individual learner needs will be important.
