The Imperial in Bloomsbury, London, is seeking a calm, service-driven Hotel Security/Door Supervisor to help create a safe and welcoming guest environment, with a strong focus on our rooftop bar.

You will balance visible reassurance with discreet professionalism, ensuring guest flow, responsible service and positive experiences at every touchpoint.

Qualifications

• SIA Door Supervisor Licence is essential.
• Experience in a hotel or hospitality security setting is preferred.
• Fluent spoken English; additional languages welcome.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a calm, professional presence across guest areas.
• Manage rooftop bar access, queues and guest flow within capacity limits.
• Support responsible alcohol service and welfare monitoring, escalate when needed.
• Respond promptly to incidents, guest concerns and lost property with empathy.
• Carry out patrols, CCTV monitoring and security checks per procedures.
• Support crowd management during busy periods, events and group arrivals.
• Coordinate with duty management, bar teams and other departments for smooth operations.
• Follow licensing objectives, risk assessments and life-safety procedures.
• Communicate with emergency services when required.
• Complete incident reports, shift handovers and daily updates.
• Represent the security team with a service-focused mindset.

This summer, we opened the doors to our fully re-imagined hotel, The Imperial – a new lifestyle offering within our portfolio. With 357 bedrooms, multiple dining venues, a workout studio. Arcus is the new destination rooftop bar - this will be a new beacon, bang in the heart of Bloomsbury, London.

About The Role

We’re looking for a calm, confident and service‑led Hotel Security/Door Supervisor to help create a safe, welcoming and smoothly run guest environment, with a strong focus on our vibrant rooftop bar.

You’ll balance visible reassurance with discreet professionalism, supporting great guest flow, responsible service and positive experiences at every touchpoint.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintain a calm, reassuring and professional presence across our guest‑facing areas
• Manage rooftop bar access, queues and guest flow, ensuring capacity limits are respected
• Support responsible alcohol service and welfare monitoring, escalating concerns to management when appropriate
• Respond promptly to incidents, guest concerns, lost property and welfare situations with empathy and sound judgement
• Carry out patrols, CCTV monitoring and security checks in line with established procedures
• Support crowd management during busy periods, events and group arrivals
• Work closely with duty management, bar teams and other departments to ensure seamless coordination
• Follow licensing objectives, risk assessments and life‑safety procedures at all times
• Communicate clearly with emergency services or local authorities when required
• Complete incident reports, shift handovers and daily updates accurately
• Represent the security team with a service‑focused mindset that enhances the overall guest experience

Who You Are

• Experienced in a security role, ideally within a hotel, hospitality or guest‑facing environment
• Calm, approachable and confident, even in high‑pressure situations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable managing high‑volume environments such as rooftop bars or busy F&B venues
• A natural team player who values professionalism and collaboration
• SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential)
• First Aid certificate (advantageous)
• Fluent in spoken English; additional languages are welcomed
