The Imperial in Bloomsbury, London, is seeking a calm, service-led Hotel Security/Door Supervisor to ensure a safe, welcoming guest environment, with a strong focus on our rooftop bar. You will balance visible reassurance with discreet professionalism, supporting guest flow, responsible service and positive experiences at every touchpoint.

Responsibilities include managing rooftop access, responding to incidents, conducting patrols and liaising with duty management.

Qualifications

• SIA Door Supervisor licence is essential.
• First Aid certification is advantageous.
• Fluent English with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Manage rooftop bar access, queues and guest flow while respecting capacity.
• Support responsible alcohol service and welfare monitoring, escalating as needed.
• Respond to incidents, guest concerns and welfare situations with empathy.
• Patrols, CCTV monitoring, and security checks following procedures.
• Assist with crowd management during events and busy periods.
• Coordinate with duty management, bar teams and other departments.
• Follow licensing objectives and life-safety procedures at all times.
• Communicate clearly with emergency services when required.
• Complete incident reports and shift handovers accurately.
• Represent security with a service-focused mindset for guest experience.

This summer, we opened the doors to our fully re-imagined hotel, The Imperial – a new lifestyle offering within our portfolio. With 357 bedrooms, multiple dining venues, a workout studio. Arcus is the new destination rooftop bar - this will be a new beacon, bang in the heart of Bloomsbury, London.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a calm, confident and service‑led Hotel Security/Door Supervisor to help create a safe, welcoming and smoothly run guest environment, with a strong focus on our vibrant rooftop bar.

You’ll balance visible reassurance with discreet professionalism, supporting great guest flow, responsible service and positive experiences at every touchpoint.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Maintain a calm, reassuring and professional presence across our guest‑facing areas
• Manage rooftop bar access, queues and guest flow, ensuring capacity limits are respected
• Support responsible alcohol service and welfare monitoring, escalating concerns to management when appropriate
• Respond promptly to incidents, guest concerns, lost property and welfare situations with empathy and sound judgement
• Carry out patrols, CCTV monitoring and security checks in line with established procedures
• Support crowd management during busy periods, events and group arrivals
• Work closely with duty management, bar teams and other departments to ensure seamless coordination
• Follow licensing objectives, risk assessments and life‑safety procedures at all times
• Communicate clearly with emergency services or local authorities when required
• Complete incident reports, shift handovers and daily updates accurately
• Represent the security team with a service‑focused mindset that enhances the overall guest experience

Who You Are:

• Experienced in a security role, ideally within a hotel, hospitality or guest‑facing environment
• Calm, approachable and confident, even in high‑pressure situations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable managing high‑volume environments such as rooftop bars or busy F&B venues
• A natural team player who values professionalism and collaboration
• SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential)
• First Aid certificate (advantageous)
• Fluent in spoken English; additional languages are welcomed
