Job summary

Tylney Hall Hotel is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department, including managing 3rd-party contractors and preventative maintenance plans across guest bedrooms, public areas, conference spaces, Health Club, and staff accommodation.

The role requires strong organisation, leadership and communication skills to deliver repairs and projects to high standards within budget, while maintaining staff welfare and safety.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive planned maintenance service across guest bedrooms, public areas, conference/function rooms, Health Club, external Estate, and Staff accommodation.
• Oversee the operation of the Maintenance Department and instruct the Maintenance team on a day-to-day basis, identifying priorities and responding to instructions from Senior Management.
• Manage hotel refurbishment projects, ensuring a professional approach whether completed in-house or by a Contractor.
• Implement a training and succession planning strategy to develop the team.
• Increase productivity and labour efficiency.
• Oversee Health & Safety for the department plus the wider Hotel in conjunction with the General Manager and Deputy Manager.
• Manage 3rd party contractors, including boiler and water plant, pool plant, pest control, kitchen equipment, drainage, sewage, and general equipment.
• Manage specific projects associated with all building and estate maintenance (e.g., roof works, road works, building works).
• Ensure all equipment is in working order and liaise with Heads of Department to address issues promptly.
• Support the structure of taking responsibility for all maintenance requirements concerning staff accommodation, ensuring a visible concern for staff welfare.
• Implement OSSOPs.
