Job summary

Tylney Hall Hotel is seeking a hands‑on Maintenance Manager to oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Maintenance department, including management of 3rd‑party contractors and preventative maintenance plans.

You will lead a team to deliver repairs, projects, and safety standards at the highest level while maintaining the brand's quality and ensuring excellent customer service across all areas of the operation.

Qualifications

• Experience managing maintenance in hotel or similar environment.
• Experience coordinating 3rd‑party contractors (boilers, plant, pest control, etc.).
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety responsibilities within a hotel setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive maintenance management service covering guest bedrooms, public areas, conference rooms, Health Club, Estate and Staff accommodation.
• Oversee the Maintenance Department and instruct the team on a day‑to‑day basis, prioritising tasks.
• Manage refurbishment projects with General Manager, whether in‑house or via Contractors.
• Implement training and succession planning to develop the team.
• Increase productivity and labour efficiency.
• Oversee Health & Safety for the department and wider hotel in conjunction with Senior Management.
• Manage 3rd party contractors for boiler, water plants, pest control, kitchen equipment, drainage and general plant.
• Oversee building and estate maintenance projects (roof, road, building works).
• Ensure equipment is in working order and quickly address issues with Heads of Department.
• Ensure staff accommodation maintenance is addressed with emphasis on staff welfare.
• Implement Operational Service Standard Of Performance (OSSOP's).
