Job summary

ISS is seeking a full-time Switchboard Operator at Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley. You will handle high volumes of calls, connect callers to the right departments, and support 24/7 operations in a critical healthcare environment.

The role requires strong communication, reliability and calmness under pressure, with full training provided. This permanent position offers 37.5 hours per week, a 4 on 4 off rotating pattern, and an hourly rate of £14.91.

Responsibilities

• Answer internal and external calls in line with KPI and SLA targets.
• Provide efficient, courteous, and professional support to all callers.
• Operate the hospital’s internal bleep system.
• Maintain and update the database of hospital personnel, departments, and contact information.
• Carry out administrative and clerical duties to support department operations.
• Be available to work public and bank holidays as the department operates 24/7.
