Job summary

EQUANS is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for the Tameside General Hospital contract. This permanent, full-time role is 37.5 hours per week with alternating shifts (Week One 07:00-15:00, Week Two 10:00-18:00). The salary is £30,900 per year with benefits.

The post holder will perform planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, plumbing and joinery systems, ensuring HTM and safety standards are met. DBS clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance environments preferred.
• Customer-facing experience.
• Fabric/Joinery is essential.
• Healthcare environment experience is desirable.
• Experience with CAFM or similar monitoring systems desirable.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and joinery systems desirable.
• Electrical qualifications are desirable.
• DBS clearance: must be obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on lighting, water and heating services.
• Perform reactive repairs to building fabric and equipment.
• Assist in maintaining records and service reports.
• Work with external contractors and hospital staff as needed.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and Safe Systems of Work.
