Job summary

EQUANS are seeking a Maintenance Assistant for the Pinderfields & Pontefract Hospital in Wakefield. This is a permanent full-time role with a 4 days on / 4 days off rota (07:00-19:00).

The role focuses on safe repairs, minor installations and maintenance across building fabric and services to support patient care. You will perform PPM on lighting, water and heating, plus reactive repairs and liaise with hospital staff.

Qualifications

• GCSE/’O’ Level Maths and English or equivalent.
• Previous general maintenance experience is beneficial.
• C&G Certificate – Inspection and testing of Portable Electrical Appliances is desirable.
• Must have (or be able to obtain) DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on lighting, water and heating services.
• Carry out reactive repairs to building fabric, fixtures and fittings.
• Work with electrical, mechanical, plumbing and joinery trades personnel as directed.
• Liaise with hospital staff daily and complete service reports.
