Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Homelessness and Prevention Officer in Warwickshire. Hybrid working, 37 hours per week, 3-month initial contract, paying £30.00 per hour umbrella, to support individuals and families threatened by homelessness.

You will assess applications, develop Personal Housing Plans, and work with clients, landlords and partners to secure sustainable housing solutions, including private rented and social housing.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing homelessness applications and making related decisions.
• Experience working directly with customers to prevent and relieve homelessness.
• Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation (Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017).
• Experience developing and managing Personal Housing Plans and progressing cases.

Responsibilities

• Interview customers to assess circumstances and housing needs.
• Provide tailored housing advice to prevent and relieve homelessness.
• Create and review Personal Housing Plans with practical actions.
• Investigate homelessness applications according to legislation and case law.
• Decide outcomes and explain housing options to customers.
• Arrange temporary accommodation and liaise with support providers.
• Help customers explore private rented sector options.
