Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority client in the East Midlands for a Homelessness Officer to join their Housing Options service. The role offers a rate of £28-32 per hour and a standard 37-hour week, with hybrid working from home two days per week.

You will interview and advise homeless people on housing opportunities, explain rights and duties under the Housing Act, and refer clients to suitable options while building long‑term solutions and relationships.

Qualifications

• Previous Housing Options Experience.
• Knowledge of the Housing Act.
• Customer focused.
• Experience working with the Locata System.

Responsibilities

• Interview and advise homeless people on all available housing opportunities.
• Provide advice regarding their rights and responsibilities.
• Give appropriate assistance to customers in accordance with the Council's statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996 Section 190 and Section 192.
• Refer homeless people to suitable available housing options quickly and efficiently.
• Provide long‑term solutions and maintain customer relationships.
