North Yorkshire Council in Scarborough is seeking a Homelessness Prevention Support Officer to help deliver housing options and advice services, developing client-specific support plans and providing tenancy support in temporary and move-on accommodation.
The role requires empathy, resilience and strong communication. Training will be provided; housing experience is welcome but not essential. Salary £30,023–£32,578 pro rata, with local government benefits.
Do you have experience in the housing, homelessness or support sector or do you have the personality and skills to support someone in their time of need?
Are you looking for a role that is challenging but offers lots of job satisfaction?
As our Homelessness Prevention Support Officer, you will assist staff in the delivery of the housing options and advice service, developing support plans for each client’s individually assessed support needs. You will provide tenancy support for clients in temporary and move on accommodation, supporting them to sustain their accommodation and overcome any barriers which they may face. The role will also involve liaising with both internal and external departments when required.
This is a very challenging role that requires someone who is resilient, has empathy and patience to deal with clients in difficult situations and often with complex support needs.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience in housing, homelessness, or the support sector, although this is not essential as full training will be provided.
In addition to your salary, we offer a range of great benefits to help you financially and make life a bit easier.
