North Yorkshire Council is seeking a Homelessness Prevention Support Officer to support the housing options and advice service in Scarborough. You will develop tailored support plans for clients with assessed needs and provide tenancy support in temporary and move-on accommodation.
You will liaise with internal and external teams to remove barriers and promote client independence. Training will be provided to develop expertise in housing and support.
Salary: £30,023 - £32,578 per annum pro rata

As our Homelessness Prevention Support Officer, you will assist staff in the delivery of the housing options and advice service, developing support plans for each client's individually assessed support needs. You will provide tenancy support for clients in temporary and move on accommodation, supporting them to sustain their accommodation and overcome any barriers which they may face. The role will also involve liaising with both internal and external departments when required.
What you will bring
This is a very challenging role that requires someone who is resilient, has empathy and patience to deal with clients in difficult situations and often with complex support needs.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience in housing, homelessness, or the support sector, although this is not essential as full training will be provided.
