Job summary

Kirklees Council is recruiting Home Support Workers to join our Short Term and Urgent Support teams across Kirklees. You’ll help rehabilitate people to be as independent as possible and support them in their homes after hospital discharge or after a fall.

Your role involves assisting with therapy and exercise plans, outdoor mobility, personal care and meal support, with a focus on flexible 21, 25 or 28-hour contracts and travel across North and South Kirklees.

Qualifications

• Must have a full driving licence and be willing to travel across Kirklees.
• Commitment to safeguarding and DBS checks as part of the recruitment process.
• Caring and compassionate approach with ability to work in a dynamic, supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals discharged from hospital to regain independence.
• Provide urgent support after a fall and assist with therapy/exercise plans.
• Assist with personal care, meal support, mobility and medication assistance.
• Deliver care in clients' homes and travel across North and South Kirklees.
