Job summary

Kirklees Metropolitan Council is seeking compassionate Home Support Workers to join the Short Term and Urgent Support teams across Kirklees. You will assist people recently discharged from hospital and provide urgent support after a fall, helping clients regain independence at home.

Role involves personal care, mobility support, meal assistance, and working as part of a supportive team with flexible shifts including 21, 25 and 28 hours. Travel is required and a driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK and immigration checks before applying.
• Full driving licence and access to a car is preferred due to travel requirements.
• Flexibility with shift patterns and travel to sites across Kirklees.

Responsibilities

• Support therapy and exercise plans and outdoor mobility practice.
• Provide personal care, medication assistance, meal support and daily living tasks.
• Assist in preventing hospital admissions by enabling rehabilitation at home.
• Work as part of a team to plan and deliver safe, compassionate care.
