Job summary

JOHN LEWIS is seeking Technician Specialists to deliver and install products at customers' homes as part of a two-person crew driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle. You will train and coach fellow drivers in home installations and customer service, acting as a role model for our high standards.

Role involves heavy lifting (sofas, white goods, furniture) and flexible hours across seven days. DBS checks may be required; pre-employment vetting is possible.

Qualifications

• Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points).
• DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Drivers Qualification Card by day one and Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
• Good understanding of technology.

Responsibilities

• Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
• Coach, develop and assess your delivery driver colleagues and give them the knowledge they need to perform at their best and represent our brand.
• Help load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
• Demonstrate respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for customers.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate how they work once installed.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies to help you perform your role at your best.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
