Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Technician Specialist to join a 2-person delivery crew, installing products in customers' homes and coaching fellow drivers on service quality.

You will drive a 7.5-tonne vehicle, handle heavy items, and work across a seven-day week with early starts and weekends. The role emphasizes safety, customer focus, and ongoing product knowledge enhancement.

Qualifications

• Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• DCPC or Drivers Qualification Card required by day one, plus Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle is essential.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role is required.
• Strong verbal communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
• Good understanding of technology and devices used in home installations.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with customer service as the top priority.
• Coach, develop and assess delivery driver colleagues and share knowledge to perform at best.
• Assist loading the lorry and work with warehouse team.
• Show respect for customers' homes and resolve issues to best satisfy customers.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use to customers.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform your role effectively.
• Maintain a safe working environment on all deliveries.
