Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Vehicle Technician in Oldham, Greater Manchester. The role involves delivering mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support to members across this local cluster, with shifts around 40 hours per week and potential overtime.

You’ll work from home base and return to customers’ locations, using the RAC van, tools and diagnostic kit provided. A Level 2 qualification or 5+ years in the field is required, plus a full UK licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Tackle calls head-on and provide quick, confident solutions for members.
• Start and finish days at home and manage local area calls.
